Enterprise AI company Writer today unveiled a new platform that claims to help businesses finally bridge the gap between the theoretical potential of AI and the actual results. The product, called "AI HQ," marks a significant shift to autonomous AI systems capable of performing complex workflows across organizations.

"This isn't just another hype, it's a massive change coming to the enterprise software space," May Habib, CEO and co-founder of Writer, said at the launch. "The vast majority of enterprises have not seen tangible results from generative AI in the last two years. Never before has there been such a huge gap between technical capabilities and business outcomes. ”

How Writer's AI agents can outgrow chatbots for real business value

This announcement comes as many organizations are reevaluating their AI strategies. According to Habib, most AI deployments fail to deliver substantial value, and enterprises struggle to move beyond basic generative AI use cases.

"Process mapping is the new prompt engineering," Habib noted, emphasizing that the company's approach has shifted from simply building the right text prompts to designing a complete workflow for the AI system.

AI HQ consists of three main components: a development environment called Agent Builder, where IT and business teams collaborate to create agents; Writer Home, which provides access to more than 100 pre-built proxies for specific industries and features; and observation tools for monitoring and managing agent behavior at scale.

In the product demo, Writer's executives show how customers are already using these technologies. For example, an investment management firm leverages Writer's agency to pull data from Snowflake, SEC filings, and instant web searches to automatically generate fund reports and personalized market commentary.

Another demo showcases a marketing workflow where an agent can analyze a strategy brief, create projects in Adobe Workfront, generate content, find or create supporting images, and prepare materials for legal review.

Enterprise AI That Really Works: How Writer's Autonomous Agents Tackle Complex Business Processes

Writer's transition to agent-based AI reflects broader market trends. While many companies initially focused on using large language models for text generation and chat capabilities, businesses are increasingly exploring how AI can automate complex processes.

In a recent interview with Forbes, Habib said of the potential impact of proxy technology on the workforce, "Just a tenth of the staff is enough. This astonishing assertion highlights the transformative potential and potential impact that these technologies can bring to knowledge work.

Anna Griffin, chief marketing officer of cybersecurity firm Commvault and an early adopter of Writer's proxy technology, spoke at the launch event about the value of connecting previously siloed systems.

"What if I could connect our Salesforce, Gainsite, Optimizely? What if I could bring together enough insights from these systems that we can truly create a seamless experience for our customers? Her advice to others is, "Think about the toughest, most complex problems in your industry, and then start thinking about how agent AI can solve them." ”

The Future of AI Learning: Writer's self-evolving model remembers mistakes and learns without retraining

At the event, Waseem AlShikh, co-founder and CTO of Writer, also gave a presentation on research on a "self-evolving model" – an AI system that can learn from mistakes over time without additional training.

AlShikh explains, "If we expect AI to be more human-like, then we need it to learn like humans." He demonstrated how traditional AI models repeatedly make the same mistakes when faced with maze challenges, while self-evolving models are able to remember past failures and find better solutions.

"This unique architecture means that the model accumulates knowledge over time – the more you interact with it, the smarter it becomes." Writer expects to launch a pilot program for a self-evolving model by the end of this year.

Writer's approach is different from competitors like OpenAI and Anthropic, which are more focused on developing general-purpose AI models, despite raising billions of dollars. Instead, Writer developed his own model – named Palmyra – designed specifically for enterprise use cases.

In an interview with Forbes, AlShikh said, "We trained our model despite everyone's advice against it. This strategy allowed Writer to create secure AI that was better suited for enterprise deployments, as customer data was extracted from dedicated servers and not used to train models, alleviating concerns about the leakage of sensitive information.

Paul Dyrwal, VP of Generative AI at Marriott, who was featured at Writer's press conference, offered advice to help businesses move forward in this fast-moving space, "Focus on fewer but higher-value opportunities, rather than chasing all the possibilities." ”

The announcement comes amid growing concerns about AI's impact on jobs. While Habib acknowledges that AI will revolutionize the way work is done, she paints a picture of transformation with an optimistic outlook.

"Your employees have a pivotal role to play in redesigning processes to be AI-native and shaping the future of work." "We think that in a time span of five to ten years, we're going to stop doing the work ourselves, but building AI that gets the job done. This will create exciting new jobs and interesting and rewarding AI-related jobs. ”

From Software Vendor to Innovation Partner: Writer's Vision for AI-Native Enterprise Transformation

In positioning itself at the forefront of enterprise AI, Habib emphasized that the company is more than just a software vendor.

"We're not a software vendor, we see ourselves as more than that, we're your innovation partner," she said. If you're looking to reinvent your company as AI-native and participate in what may be the most important enterprise transformation ever, sign up for the beta test of Writer Agent today. Let's think big and build fast. ”

The Agent Builder and Observer are currently in beta testing and are expected to be generally available later this spring; Writer Home, along with the ready-to-use proxy library, is available to all customers starting today.
