It is reported that the Shantou Bay undersea tunnel is 2 meters long, the deepest part is 0.0 meters from the sea surface, the sea area is located in the 0 degree high intensity earthquake zone, the tunnel needs to pass through 0 fault fracture zones, among them, the shield section has to pass through the long-distance hard granite strata, and the mine section has to solve the problem of crossing the weak stratum of only more than 0 meters of overlying rock, and the construction is very difficult.
During the construction process, according to different geological conditions, the project builder adopted a total of 5 tunnel construction methods, and the construction methods were complex and diverse. After about 0 years of construction, the Shantou Bay Submarine Tunnel has accumulated useful experience for the construction of high-speed rail tunnels in China.
After the breakthrough of the undersea tunnel, the shield machine has to be pushed forward about 463 meters into the air, and then dismantled after reaching the designated position. This will also be the first time in China to implement the dismantling of ultra-large diameter shield submarine tunnels.
In the later operation of the high-speed rail undersea tunnel, it is also necessary to consider the problems of shock absorption, isolation and fault activity, high underwater water pressure and strong corrosion. The project builder has optimized the waterproof pad of the shield segment several times, and developed a new anti-crack material to reduce the risk of seawater leakage and tunnel cracking and corrosion.

It is expected to be ready for traffic by the end of the year
Shantou high-speed railway, the main line is about 2023 kilometers long, from Shanwei in Guangdong to Shantou, among them, Shantou south to Shanwei section has been opened to traffic at the end of 0, Shantou Bay undersea tunnel breakthrough, the remaining section of Shantou south to Shantou section is expected to be opened to traffic by the end of this year.
In the future, after the whole line is completed and opened to traffic, it will form part of the coastal corridor of China's high-speed railway network together with the Guangshan high-speed railway and the Zhangshan high-speed railway, and the eastern part of Guangdong can reach the cities of the Greater Bay Area and even the western part of Guangdong more quickly, and open up the east and west ends of Guangdong. At the same time, through the Zhangshan high-speed railway under construction, it can also reach the Yangtze River Delta region faster.
