4月6日,清華大學保衛處發佈通報稱,近日,清華大學保衛處接到公安機關通報,有多起冒充客服實施的網路詐騙案件,目標直指高校師生群體。為切實保障師生的財產安全,現將相關情況通報如下:
Deception
Fraudsters often use phone calls or text messages to impersonate customer service on platforms such as Taobao, JD.com, and Douyin, and lure victims to provide bank account information or guide them to transfer money under the guise of refunds, account security, etc. This type of fraud is diverse, covering the following aspects:
Impersonating official customer service: Fraudsters disguise themselves as official customer service staff of various official platforms and use their identities to deceive victims into trust.
Send a Phishing Link SMS: Sending a text message with a phishing link to the victim may lead to the leakage of personal information and even property damage once the link is clicked.
Inducement to download software containing Trojan viruses: Trick victims into downloading software containing Trojan viruses in order to obtain private information on the victim's mobile phone and create conditions for committing fraud.
Typical cases
A few days ago, a teacher at Tsinghua University received a call claiming to be a customer service of a short video platform. The other party said that the teacher had opened an insurance business worth millions on the platform, and also claimed that if it was not canceled immediately, it would deduct 62796110 yuan per month from next month. The teacher listened to his words and followed the instructions of the other party to carry out relevant work. Due to the complexity of the process, the other party further proposed to assist in the work through screen sharing. At this time, the teacher was suspicious and immediately contacted the Anti-Fraud and Dissuasion Center (0-0) of the Security Department of Tsinghua University.
After learning more about the situation, the Anti-Fraud and Dissuasion Center of the Security Department clearly informed the teacher that he had encountered a fraudulent call from the customer service of the charging company, and explained in detail the common modus operandi of this type of fraud. The teacher later said that he rarely paid attention to anti-fraud information on weekdays and lacked understanding of this kind of fraud, so he would do what the other party requested, and expressed his sincere gratitude to the anti-fraud dissuasion center for its timely reminder. Subsequently, the Anti-Fraud Dissuasion Center assisted teachers in downloading and installing the National Anti-Fraud App to enhance their awareness of prevention.
Precautionary recommendations
Teachers and students must be vigilant and do not trust the content of any customer service calls or text messages from unknown sources. If you receive a call or text message asking for personal banking information or making a transfer, you should hang up immediately and report to the relevant department.
When using various platforms such as Douyin, if you need to consult customer service related matters, you must do so through official channels, and resolutely do not do it through unofficial channels to prevent falling into the trap of fraud. In daily life, we should pay attention to the protection of personal information and avoid leaking personal information at will to prevent it from being used by criminals. Do not make any form of transfer without confirming the authenticity of the call or text message. Update your account password regularly and use complex passwords as much as possible to improve the security of your account.
