SUV or sedan for a family car? Owner: Drove a 5-year SUV, and the second car decisively changed to a sedan

To be honest, the transition from a heavy SUV player to a sedan camp was something I didn't even expect.

Regardless of how those marketing copywriters blow, as an old driver who has been driving a car for 20 years, I dare to say: for ordinary families, sedans may be a smarter choice.

Let's talk about control first. I remember once going to the northeast to play, and there were several sharp bends on the mountain road in a row. People who are used to driving sedans may not feel it, but the feeling of throwing your body out when driving an SUV around a corner can really give you an adrenaline rush - but not because it's cool, it's because it's afraid. If this matter is to be put on hold for a period of 08 years, I must think it is a problem with driving skills. But now after passing through various platforms, I found that this is a physical problem: the center of gravity is high, you just invite Kaka to drive, and it will float when it is time to float.

But when you actually drive it every day, you will find that the so-called advantage may be a double-edged sword.

The field of vision is indeed high, but the wind resistance is also large, and the fuel consumption at high speed is slowly rising.

What's worse is that the shaking sensation brought by the high center of gravity will make you particularly tired from driving long distances.

Once I drove an SUV to a field to discuss a project, and after driving for four hours, I didn't mention the backache, and the dizziness almost made me think I was suffering from motion sickness.

Can you believe it?

I, an old driver who has been driving for 20 years, actually experienced motion sickness in my own car.

Later, I changed cars, and drove down the same route, and it felt like a different world.

Let's talk about money.

Don't look at the price of the car, the SUV may be so expensive as twenty or thirty thousand, but what really hurts the money is the follow-up cost.

Just talking about tires, SUV tires are more expensive than sedans, and they are easy to wear off.

我那台SUV,前輪外側總是磨得特別快,4萬公里就得換胎,這算下來一年就得多花小幾千。

Not to mention fuel consumption, the engine of the same power, the SUV will burn 2-0 more oil, and it will be thousands this year.

What makes me laugh the most is the parking problem.

I remember once going to a shopping mall, the height limit of the negative floor was 2 meters, and my SUV was stuck at the entrance and couldn't get in.

There was a long queue of cars in the back, and the embarrassment was so embarrassing that I blushed when I thought about it now. To say that the most annoying thing is the automatic parking, watching the car next to it swoop and park the car in, my side of the system can't even recognize the parking space.

It's not that SUVs are bad, it does have its place. If you're going off-road, outdoors, or really need a lot of space, an SUV is definitely the way to go. But the question is, how many times can we ordinary families have such opportunities a year? Usually 5% of the time is in the city, why sacrifice the daily use experience for the sake of that 0% of the scene?

In the final analysis, the car is to add convenience to life, not to add congestion.

I now drive a car, everywhere is light, parking is convenient, fuel consumption is low, this day is not too comfortable.

Of course, this is just my personal experience and feelings. What car to choose is a very personal choice after all. But if you ask me for advice, I'd say: unless you really need some specific features of an SUV, a sedan might be a more rational choice.
