3月31日，北碚區示範性渡口改造專案——澄江渡口改造工程正式啟動。改造完成後，澄江渡口基礎設施及周邊環境將大幅改善，為轄區居民出行遊玩提供更加安全便捷的條件。

“目前我們著重開展的是渡口改造工程當中的公共觀光平台建設，預計今年5月初能夠完成。整個渡口改造工程將在今年10月份全面竣工並投用。”浙江祥達建設有限公司項目工程師明興國介紹，本次示範性渡口改造專案由浙江祥達建設有限公司承建，總投資270萬元，建設改造內容主要包括進港道路、公共觀光平臺、連接便道、候船平臺、梯道、污水管道及環保工程等。施工過程中，澄江渡口將正常營運，不會影響居民出行。

Zhang Qifu, a staff member of the Port and Shipping Management Office of the Beibei District Transportation Commission, introduced that Chengjiang Ferry is located in the throat area of Wentang Gorge of Jialing River, backed by Jinyun Mountain, where the steepness of the mountain gorge and the openness of the river beach coexist harmoniously, and the scenery is very beautiful.

As the only manned ferry port in Beibei at present, Chengjiang Ferry Port matches the concept of integrated development of "traffic and tourism" in Beibei District on the basis of giving full play to the function of passenger ferry. The Transportation Committee of Beibei District, in combination with the local characteristic rural tourism industry in Chengjiang Town, has carried out the construction of the Beibei Demonstration Ferry Reconstruction Project according to local conditions, which can better promote the rural revitalization and economic development of the district.

After the Chengjiang Ferry is renovated and put into use, it will be used as a hub for Internet celebrity check-in places such as Jingang Ancient Village, Beibei River Patrol Trail, and Zhangfei Ancient Road, which will not only better serve people's livelihood, but also lay a good foundation for Beibei District to build a high-quality "traffic tourism" tourism route.
