Shangri-La, the "sun and moon in my heart", has been the intersection of culture and nature since ancient times, and it has given birth to many precious intangible cultural heritages, which are the crystallization of the wisdom of the Chinese nation and the precious heritage of Chinese culture. With the rapid development of digital technology, how to better inherit these intangible cultural heritage has become an urgent problem to be solved.

The "New Vision of Intangible Cultural Heritage: Digital Protection and Dissemination of Shangri-La's Intangible Cultural Heritage" practice group came into being, aiming to use modern scientific and technological means to inject new vitality into the inheritance and promotion of intangible cultural heritage. Through digital protection and dissemination, the team practices the concept of "speaking China in foreign languages", so that the world can better understand China's rich intangible cultural heritage.

1. Explore the culture of Dongba and experience the call of words

在2024年7月12日的香格裡拉非遺探索之旅中,團隊深入研學了東巴文化。東巴文作為納西族獨有的古老文字,承載著豐富的歷史文化內涵,而東巴紙則是這一珍貴文化遺產的載體。

We arrived at the Naxi village of Baidi Village, Sanba Township, Shangri-La City, and began the journey of making Dongba paper. First, we learn how to select the raw materials for the treatment of the flowers. Then the beating is carried out. We hammer the raw materials evenly into a fine pulp, which requires moderate force and consistent movements. Although my hands were sore, my heart was full of accomplishment and satisfaction when I saw the pulp in shape.

After beating, the pulp is evenly spread on the wooden board and squeezed and dried. The dried Dongba paper presents a unique textured color, as if telling the story of the ancient Naxi people.

Dongba paper is not only a medium for recording history, but also an important symbol of Naxi culture.

2. Visit the black pottery art and feel the temperature of the soil

Entering the workshop hall, we were struck by the different forms and ingenuity of the black pottery artworks, which are simple and elegant, delicate and delicate, or full of modern atmosphere, each of which seems to carry the story of an ancient legend, and shimmers in the soft light.

Under the guidance of Dangzhen Pichu, we experienced the process of making black pottery. From picking the clay to drawing the blank to carving, every step requires experience and skill. We deeply feel the temperature and vitality of the soil, as well as the persistent pursuit and deep emotions of the craftsmen for art. They put their heart and soul into the hope of passing on and carrying forward this traditional skill.

3. Dialogue with the female painter of Thangka to explore the art of color

2024年7月14日,團隊與香格裡拉的唐卡女畫師春初老師進行深入交流。

Teacher Chunchu is very fond of the art of thangka, and despite some prejudices when she first got involved in thangka, she still insists on learning and trying to pass on this skill. Not only did she delve into her drawing skills, but she also studied the cultural history of the Tibetan people. At the beginning of spring, the teacher instructed us to color the thangka in the "Eight Treasures of Tibet", showing the charm of the color art of thangka. This exchange allowed us to increase our understanding of thangka art and deeply admire the talent and enthusiasm of the teacher Chunchu. We believe that under the guidance of the intangible cultural heritage inheritors represented by Mr. Chunchu, thangka art will be better protected and developed.

Fourth, experience the pine forest incense stick and taste the charm of Tibetan incense

Fifth, across the border, the integration and inheritance of culture

Under the wave of digitization of intangible cultural heritage, we have re-examined the integration and inheritance of Shangri-La's intangible cultural heritage, and found that digital technology has not only injected new vitality into these ancient cultures, but also greatly promoted their exchange and integration with global cultures.

With the help of digital technology, Shangri-La's intangible cultural heritage has been brought to life. Digital platforms also provide more possibilities for the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, so that more people can learn and inherit these traditional cultures.

Shangri-La is not only a land, but also a symbol of culture. The local intangible cultural heritage culture is like a shining pearl, attracting the attention of countless people. We are fortunate to set foot on this land and deeply explore the mysteries of its intangible cultural heritage, which gives us a deeper understanding of the value of intangible cultural heritage. We will make use of modern technologies, such as digital preservation and documentary filming, to promote the dissemination and awareness of intangible cultural heritage. (Wang Jiaqi)
