Why is experience more important than experience?
Text | Zhou Xiaofeng
Looking at a resume, a person has six working experiences in different companies in his career in the past ten years, with an average of 3 years of work per job, the longest of which is 0 years, and the shortest of which is less than half a year. Ask him why this is the case? He said that he wanted to contact more companies and increase his work experience.
This is a typical example of confusing work experience with experience.
Experiences are the things, circumstances, and feelings we encounter in our lives, even if it's like eating, walking, and sleeping.
Experience is the knowledge, skills, and wisdom that we draw from those experiences.
It usually takes three years for a job to go from acceptance to familiarization to achievement, and even longer if it is a complex job. That brother Ren, the shortest working time is half a year, and he didn't even sit on the bench, let alone have any experience summed up.
Similarly, if a job is familiar and repeated for many years, then the experience gained in the job is very limited. As the heart-wrenching saying goes, "You don't work for ten years, you do one thing over and over again for ten years." ”
Experience is a passive way forward, even if you don't do anything, it's also an experience. Experience is not, experience is an active process that requires us to be aware, reflective and summarize what we have experienced.
As Socrates said: "An uncensored life is not worth living.”
We should not stop at what we have been and what we have done, and live aimlessly every day, but should be soberly aware of the great value of accumulating experience for us.
Promote personal growth
Accumulating experience can help us improve our skills and self-awareness. When we acquire a new skill or learn how to handle a situation, our ability and confidence in this area are enhanced. The reason why we are anxious is the uncertainty that comes with the unknown. If we have done it ourselves and have mastered the skills and principles, we will feel at ease when we face it again. That's why some things are like the sky falling for you, and for others it's light.
Good for career development
Don't learn from the frequent job-hoppingMr; Don't learn from the so-called "slash youth", want to try everything, want to have a miracle outside the existing career, on the contrary, in the end, it is more likely to be "everything is passable, everything is loose". Instead of adding a lot of titles to your business card, you can add senior, senior, or expert in front of a limited number of titles. The perfect resume is that they are very clear about their career goals, and they are willing to sink down at each stage of work, learn the most important lessons at that stage, and then work their way up.
Improve interpersonal relationships
I remember graduating from graduate school and working in sales for a while, I once went to visit a customer, and a lame greeting made the customer directly blackface, and the atmosphere instantly became solidified. This is because I was always in school, social relationships were very simple, and I didn't know how to deal with different people. Later, with the increase of social experience, I knew how to deal with interpersonal relationships. To reflect and improve from mistakes, mistakes or failures, we can learn to listen and understand others better, and to respond appropriately in the face of conflicts and contradictions.
