Bookley revealed that Pocketpir's success in the global market surprised Pocketpir.

Bookley also chatted about the patent infringement lawsuit filed by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company against Pocketpair. According to him, Pocketpair was surprised by the lawsuit, as Palu the Phantom Beast had already undergone legal review before it was released, and no one had even considered the patent issue within the company.

"We went to a lawyer, and the lawyer contacted the court to find out what was going on, and only then did we know that they wanted to apply for a patent. At Pocketpair, almost everyone is a big fan of the game, so it was a really frustrating day, with a lot of people walking home in the rain with their heads down...... This incident disrupted our plans. We were about to launch a PlayStation version of the game and were preparing to participate in the Tokyo Game Show, but we had to scale back these events and hire additional security staff. All in all, we didn't feel very good. ”
