After the police arrived at the scene, they found that she was doing a financial management task on a fund software by checking Ms. Zhang's mobile phone information, and someone induced her to buy a shopping card and upload the card number and password. The police found that Ms. Zhang had transferred large amounts of money and frequently transferred money, and preliminarily inferred that she might be suspected of being involved in online fraud.
According to the police, because the shopping card of the supermarket has the characteristics of anonymity and liquidity, it is difficult to be traced after committing illegal crimes, so the fraudsters require the victim to convert the funds into a shopping card, obtain the card number and password, and quickly cash out at a discount through the black market channel to complete money laundering.
The Ministry of Public Security previously issued a reminder that the new routine of fraud and money laundering through the transfer of fraudulent funds through shopping cards is highly prevalent in many places across the country. Some fraudsters use the bearer nature of shopping cards to commit fraud, first inducing victims to buy shopping cards, and then obtaining card numbers and passwords, and committing "money laundering" crimes while committing fraud. Among such scams, the most common types of scams are such as rebates, impersonating customer service, and fake investment and financial management.
The police reminded to prevent shopping card-related fraud, do not click on unknown links or scan suspicious QR codes, avoid downloading fraud or Trojan virus software, and strictly keep core information such as card numbers and passwords confidential. If someone asks you to buy a large number of shopping cards and provides the card number and password, you have fallen for a scam.
