GAC magazine battery safety technology has been upgraded again, and it will not catch fire even if it is twisted, and Aion UT will be the first to carry it

Through multi-level protection design, this technology builds a systematic safety guarantee scheme at the level of battery cells, battery packs and vehicle architecture, and has been the first to be installed on Aion's UT models.

One of the cores of Aion's technology upgrade is the passive safety protection system of "compartment isolation". The battery pack is divided into separate compartments, each of which is filled with thermal insulation and heat absorption. When a single cell is thermally runaway, the insulation blocks the heat diffusion, while the heat absorber cools down quickly, keeping the risk to a local scale and avoiding a chain reaction.

In addition, at the cell level, the magazine battery adopts the industry's first "battery pack rapid cooling technology", which improves thermal management efficiency by contacting the coolant on both sides. In terms of electrical safety, Aion has designed a full-link protection system to ensure that even in extreme cases, the battery pack will not be exposed to increased risks due to short circuits or electrical failures.

In the technical verification process, Aion carried out a number of extreme tests, such as the pinprick test: after the steel needle penetrated the battery cell, it did not cause thermal runaway or fire. 180 degree torsion test: the battery pack remains structurally intact and functionally normal after severe deformation. Collision simulation: In a high-speed collision scenario, there is no invasive damage to the battery pack, and the door can be opened normally to ensure that the occupant escape route is clear.

Aion said that battery production involves more than 2000 potential failure control points, and it is not realistic to completely avoid cell problems, so it is necessary to reduce risks through system design.

In addition to hardware protection, Aion's battery management system (BMS) has full-time monitoring capabilities, which can detect the battery health status of the vehicle in driving, charging and parking in real time, and discover potential risks in time, early detection and early disposal.

At present, the upgraded magazine battery technology has been applied to Aion's UT models, and will be gradually expanded to more new energy models of GAC Group in the future. Aion emphasized that its technology research and development relies on the integration ability of the whole industry chain, from battery cell manufacturing to vehicle integration, which enables it to achieve rapid iteration in the field of battery safety.

This technology upgrade shows that the new energy vehicle industry is shifting from a single pursuit of performance parameters to a more systematic safety design. With a multi-layered protection approach, Aion is trying to establish a new technical benchmark in the field of battery safety.
