Recently, Sinolong New Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sinolong New Materials") announced that its Changsu Industry has successfully developed the industry's first BOPA (biaxially oriented nylon film) for solid-state batteries, filling the technological gap in the industry and marking China's "leading" in the field of new energy core materials. This achievement is not only a demonstration of the company's technical strength, but also a microcosm of Xiamen's deep cultivation of scientific and technological innovation and new energy track.
Solid-state batteries are regarded as the "ultimate solution" for the next generation of power batteries due to their advantages of high energy density, high safety, and long cycle life. However, its industrialization faces three major challenges: material technology, production process and cost control. Among them, the encapsulation material, as the "armor" of the battery, needs to have flexibility, puncture resistance and impact resistance, and the technical threshold is extremely high.
After two years of research, Sinolong New Materials R&D team has successfully developed a BOPA film specially designed for solid-state batteries by optimizing the production process and innovating the material formulation according to the characteristics of solid-state electrolytes and the harsh use environment. The material has good performance in terms of mechanical properties such as flexibility, puncture resistance, impact resistance, etc., which can resist external impact and protect the internal components of the battery. The person in charge of R&D of Sinolong New Materials said: "The successful research and development of this product will provide a stable and reliable supply guarantee of localized materials for the next large-scale industrialization of solid-state batteries. ”
