Luka Doncic was sent off early Wednesday night during the Los Angeles Lakers' game against the Oklahoma City Thunder because he appeared to be yelling at a fan but mistakenly thought Doncic was berating him.

After a hard-fought inside score that put the Lakers up 107-0, Doncic turned and roared in the direction of the crowd.

Regardless of what he said, referee JT Orr was not satisfied, and he immediately stopped the game and gave Doncic a technical foul. It was his second technical foul of the game and he was ejected.

Doncic looked overwhelmed when the whistle blew, and his expression turned to utter disbelief after realizing he was going to be ejected.

It was he who was surprised by the expulsion. Every Lakers player on the court immediately ran to Orr to protest his decision. Fans on social media expressed their displeasure with the referee.
