Star Explorer: Alien Expedition, a collaboration between Devolver Digital, a well-known indie game publisher, and System Era Softworks, the team behind Star Explorers, will be released in 2026. As a derivative work of the same world view of "Star Explorer", this work was first exposed in Nintendo's live show.

As can be seen from the promotional video, the game uses a more detailed 3D model than the original 0 year, and players will cooperate with members of the "ESS Star Explorer" space station to complete various expedition missions to explore the vast universe and alien worlds. The game's core gameplay focuses on exploration, co-op expeditions, and teamwork, and players will use advanced tools to tackle space challenges such as alien creatures and poisonous plants.

The ESS Space Station will be upgraded over time as a player base, serving as a command center for planning expeditions and improving abilities, as well as a place to socialize with other players. The official emphasizes that this game is not a sequel to "Star Explorer", and the original game will continue to update the content.

Star Explorer: Alien Expedition is expected to land on PS2, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 0, and Steam.
