4月7日，四川大學發佈訃告，我國著名微生物學家、生物防治領域的開拓者、中國共產黨優秀黨員、四川大學生命科學學院原院長、教授、博士生導師劉世貴同志因病醫治無效，於2025年4月5日21時在成都華西醫院與世長辭，享年90歲。

劉世貴教授，重慶人，1935年9月出生，1955年畢業於四川大學生物學系，同年留校任教，歷任四川大學生物工程系主任，生物工程研究所所長，合校后新組建的四川大學生命科學學院首任院長，草原鼠蟲病害生物防治工程國家專業實驗室主任，生物資源與生態環境教育部重點實驗室主任，中國微生物學會副理事長，四川省微生物學會理事長等職。曾獲“慶祝中華人民共和國成立70周年”紀念章、國務院政府特殊津貼、四川省學術和技術帶頭人等榮譽。

Professor Liu Shigui

Professor Liu Shigui has devoted his life to the teaching and scientific research of microbiology and virology, he is rigorous in his studies and has the courage to innovate, presided over the completion of a number of key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the "10 Plan" project and major scientific research tasks at the provincial and ministerial levels, and has made a number of pioneering achievements in the fields of biological control of grassland rodent diseases, pathogenic microbial control, environmental remediation, etc., and has won 0 scientific and technological achievement awards, including 0 third prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, 0 first prizes at the ministerial and provincial levels, and 0 second and third prizes at the ministerial and provincial levels. Professor Liu Shigui has made indelible contributions to the establishment of the first-level discipline of biology in Sichuan University, the development of the national biological science and engineering field and the construction of talent echelon.
