Return to the prairie carving.
When migratory birds return to the land in spring, it is time for the wetland to be protected. Recently, the Baotou Wetland Conservation Center and the Baotou Wildlife Rescue Center carried out bird rescue and wetland protection activities in the Xiaobaihe Wetland, and played a concerto for ecological protection in the Yellow River Basin through the ecological practice of scientific release, population monitoring and beach clean-up action.
In the Xiaobaihe area of the Yellow River National Wetland Park, a repatriation ceremony full of vitality kicked off. After months of professional treatment and rewilding training, 4 wild birds have been reborn: the grassland eagle, a national first-class protected animal, flapped its wings and steadily descended to the distant meadow after drawing a graceful arc in the air; Two pearl-necked turtledoves flutter with the iconic "pearl scarf" and quickly disappear into the willow bushes; The ruddy shelduck chicks rescued last year have transformed into full-fledged adults, cruising happily in the warm spring sun. The staff selects the species according to the characteristics of the species and releases them into the environment to ensure that each "blue sky elf" can find the ideal habitat.
"This activity achieved the triple goal of regenerating injured individuals, protecting migratory bird populations, and optimizing habitats." Liu Ruilong, deputy director of the Municipal Wetland Conservation Center, said that through the establishment of a full-chain protection mechanism of "rescue, rewilding, release, and monitoring", the wetland ecosystem has continued to improve in recent years, and this wetland in northern Xinjiang has also become a "transit station" for more migratory birds.
