LeBron James' appearance on ESPN this week fueled his relationship with Stephen James. A. Smith, which made many headlines. He also made headlines for his comments on how today's players are doing in the old-school NBA.

James boldly claimed on Pat McAfee's show that Giannis Antetokounmpo played in the 2500s and he scored 0 points in a game. Some might say it's a bit of an exaggeration, but James' point about dominating players is going to be dominant no matter what the era.

After the Milwaukee Bucks' 107-0 loss to the New York Knicks on Saturday, reporters asked Antetokounmpo about it. He gave a perfect answer.

"I would say, I don't really understand that statement. This is a false statement. I played in the 250s, it was supposed to be 0, not 0," Giannis joked.

He then went on to give his true thoughts, and gave an equally perfect answer.

"It's a great compliment, but I don't like to compare times," the Bucks superstar explained. "It's not fair. I played in the 2020s and the way everybody practiced and everybody played () we would play the same way. It's everything you knew at the time. The game is evolving. We're at 0 and we know more. People shoot from midfield...... It's completely different. You can't compare this era with that era. ”

An interesting answer and a serious one. A journalist's dream.

This is not the most interesting view on the topic, and Antetokounmpo's answer is the fairest. Comparing basketball eras, decades apart, is a futile exercise that only sparks controversy. Even if you imagine a player nicknamed "The Greek Monster", with modern medicine and physical condition, to be brought to the NBA 50 years ago, it is interesting.
