It's the beginning of the spring semester again, and everything is recovering. How to dissipate wind and cold, clear away heat and detoxify, improve self-immunity from the aspect of curing diseases, and let children be calm in the face of the virus? Duan Min, chief physician of the Department of Preventive Treatment of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, sorted out the four aspects of diet and daily life for parents to help children grow up healthily.

Duan Min introduced, "The Yellow Emperor's Neijing, Su Wen, and the Great Treatise on the Four Tempering Spirits" recorded: "In spring and March, this is called Fa Chen. Heaven and earth are born, and all things are glorious. Lie down at night and get up early, and walk in the court. It was sent to slow down the shape in order to make the Zhisheng. "Traditional Chinese medicine health care is all about adapting to the season. In winter, dormant and less active need to achieve heat in the body, in the spring, it is necessary to better clear the liver qi, clear the lungs, strengthen the spleen and stomach, raise yang qi, and regulate the liver and gallbladder to achieve physical health.

Duan Min introduced that if you want to achieve good health in spring, you must first eat lightly and prevent internal heat. Internal heat is the root cause of colds, lung heat will cause nasal dryness and nasal congestion, stomach heat will be dry mouth, and liver heat will cause bitterness and red eyes. As the saying goes, "the belly is full of seven points, and the virus runs around", TCM emphasizes that not always feeling full is an important means to prevent internal heat, and should fully consume fresh vegetables, with fresh berries and whole grains, and consume an appropriate amount of high-quality protein, reasonable combination of dietary fiber, can help children stay away from the virus.

The second is drinking water, so how to drink water correctly? Duan Min said that replenishing water can prevent blood stickiness and achieve the effect of moisturizing yin and dryness, but you should also drink water as needed. Traditional Chinese medicine does not advocate drinking water without thirst, but advocates conforming to demand, and drinking too much water may hurt the kidneys. People's age, physique, geographical location and climate will affect the demand for water, for example, in the cold winter, the human body naturally needs less water; The summer is hot, and people need to drink plenty of water. At the same time, the amount of water to drink varies from person to person, and healthy people can judge by whether there are signs such as dry mouth, dry stool, and dark yellow urine. For example, the normal color of urine should be pale yellow, if the color is too dark, you should drink water, if it is very light, it means that you may have drunk too much water.

Duan Min suggested that you can give your child lemonade rich in minerals every day and avoid drinking high-energy carbonated drinks. Because carbonated drinks do not quench thirst, they also aggravate internal heat and blood viscosity.

In addition to diet and hydration, it is also important to dress properly in the spring. There is an ancient proverb that "covers spring and autumn freezes", but how to cover it? Duan Min said that the blood circulation in the lower half of the human body is worse than that in the upper half, and it is susceptible to wind and cold, so the cold is mostly born from the bottom. "A Thousand Golden Prescriptions" has the proposition that it is advisable to dress in spring "thick at the bottom and thin at the top", which not only raises yang but also collects yin. In early spring, the temperature difference between day and night is large, and it is often attacked by cold air, so you must not be in a hurry to reduce your clothes, and it is good for your health to "cover" for a few more days. In early spring, don't be in a hurry to change from a padded shirt to a sweater or jacket, but reduce it one by one according to the change of weather. In addition, the bedding should not be thinned immediately.

Duan Min also introduced that the temperature difference between morning and evening in Inner Mongolia is large in spring, the heating in the house is hot and dry, and the wind outside the house is strong and cold, so you can consider wearing a quick-drying windbreaker close to the body, and then wear cotton clothes outside. Make sure not to sweat in the house and cause loose tendons, which can cause colds and flu when you go out.

As for the cause of disease, traditional Chinese medicine believes that the external evil qi mainly refers to the six external evils of wind, cold, heat, dampness, dryness and fire, especially for infectious diseases, it can be collectively referred to as "Shixing epidemic poison", that is, the disease is caused by feeling the external evil when the human body is deficient in the righteous qi. So how to help children improve their righteousness in life?

Duan Min suggested that children can improve their righteousness through reasonable diet, moderate exercise, adequate sleep, good attitude, and traditional Chinese medicine conditioning.

First and foremost, a sensible diet can provide children with the necessary nutrients to ensure their growth and immune system health. Parents can prepare foods for their children that are rich in vitamins, minerals, and other important nutrients, such as fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, lean meats, and low-fat dairy products. Also, avoid excessive intake of processed foods and sugary beverages, which often lack nutritional value but can contribute to obesity and other health problems in your child. Secondly, a moderate amount of physical activity contributes to the child's physical health. Parents can encourage their children to participate in various sports, such as running, swimming, cycling, etc., to help them maintain a healthy weight and reduce the risk of disease. Again, getting enough sleep is essential for a child's physical and mental health. During sleep, your child's body repairs and rebuilds tissues, strengthens memories, and releases growth hormone. Parents should make sure that their children have a regular sleep schedule and create an environment conducive to sleep. Finally, TCM believes that through traditional treatments such as traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, and cupping, children's physique can be adjusted and their immunity can be improved. Under the guidance of a professional doctor, parents can choose the appropriate TCM treatment plan for their children.
