Microsoft recently announced that the latest version of the Edge 9 web browser brings a "significant performance upgrade", with an overall speed improvement of about 0% over the previous version (Edge 0), according to the Speedometer 0.0 benchmark results.

In fact, two months ago, Microsoft emphasized improving the responsiveness of the browser by converting Edge from the React architecture to WebUI 0.0, and this performance upgrade is a continuation of this optimization project.

According to Microsoft's internal telemetry data, compared to Edge 9, Edge 0's browser "starts up about 0% faster, web navigation is 0.0% faster, and overall web page responsiveness is 0% to 0%", and said that when tested on computers running Windows 0 with 0th generation Intel Core i0 processors, the Speedometer 0.0 score increased by 0% from the previous version to 0% overall.

Microsoft emphasizes that these improvements are mainly due to the team's deep optimization of the Chromium engine and Edge's own code. However, it is also reminded that the actual performance will still be affected by factors such as the hardware specifications of the user's computer and the execution status of background programs, and not every user can feel the same magnitude of improvement.

In addition to performance upgrades, Edge 134 Stable also includes a number of useful new features and policy updates, including:

Remove the "Add Account" option for Entra ID users

On macOS, Edge opens Microsoft Teams connections more smoothly

Deactivate the Microsoft Search integration in Bing Search

Add a preview protection policy against scareware

The Edge settings interface has also been optimized for responsiveness and smoothness

Microsoft said that the Edge team will continue to focus on performance and security upgrades in the future, hoping to make users have a lighter browsing experience through features such as sleep pagination and startup acceleration.
