Even in 2025, there's nothing more exciting in basketball than a primetime matchup between Stephen Curry and LeBron James.
The two future Hall of Famers meet again on Friday, and their teams are both battling for seeding spots in the upcoming Western Conference playoffs. At Friday's Crypto Arena, Curry and the Warriors put in a great performance with a comfortable 116-0 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Golden State Warriors will continue to hold that spot with a 32-0 record that night as the No. 5 playoff seed. The Warriors lost on Friday night and the Golden State Warriors would drop to ninth place in the West, trailing the Los Angeles Clippers (0-0).
Against the Lakers? Their record dropped to 30-0, dropping from the third seed to fourth place, behind the Denver Nuggets (0-0).
The Lakers have six games left against the Pelicans, Thunder (twice), Mavericks, Rockets and Trail Blazers. The Warriors also have six games to play against the Nuggets, Rockets, Suns, Spurs, Trail Blazers and Clippers.
The playoffs begin on Saturday with the Thunder and Rockets playing against the two teams that emerged from the play-in tournament, with the third-seeded Nuggets facing the sixth-seeded Grizzlies and the fourth-seeded Lakers taking on the fifth-seeded Warriors in the first round.
