The action survival game "Atomic Fall" created by Rebellion has now officially landed on PC, PS4 and Xbox platforms, according to foreign media tech0gamers, developer Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley recently talked about the phenomenon in the game industry in an interview with PC Gamer, believing that the first task of large game companies is to please shareholders, and making games has become a secondary goal.
According to Jason Kingsley, games are only made for financial reporting, not to give players a satisfying experience. "The essence of some of the giants' business is just to please the shareholders, and game development is just a byproduct."
In his view, the power of capital in pursuit of instant returns is poisoning all entertainment industries, and the actual experience of paying users is insignificant. This is especially true of the gaming industry, where management and shareholders who don't know anything about development will simply aggressively demand that developers reduce bugs in their games.
Jason Kingsley also revealed that Rebellion was able to maintain the creative autonomy of "Atomfall" precisely because it did not interfere too much in marketing, public relations and project investment. He also admitted that the brutal expansion and subsequent adjustment of the industry after the epidemic were important factors that triggered the tsunami of layoffs.
