The incidence of telecommunications network fraud in the city has continued to decline in recent years, but the situation of crackdown and prevention is still grim, and fraudsters have continuously updated and changed their methods in terms of drainage channels and fund transfers in order to evade the crackdown:
Drainage pipes are more deceptive and deceptive
With the joint efforts of multiple departments, overseas fraudulent text messages have been effectively curbed, but fraudsters have turned to register shell companies, and under the guise of business operations, they have adopted methods such as impersonation and obfuscated signatures to impersonate government departments and enterprises to send fraudulent text messages, set traps, induce them to click on links, and then obtain personal information and implant Trojan viruses to commit fraud.
In some cases of impersonation customer service fraud, fraudsters falsely claim that the victim has purchased membership or insurance services by impersonating the customer service of the platform, and if they do not cancel it after the expiration, they will automatically deduct the monthly fee, and guide the victim to download the so-called "UnionPay Meeting", "Douyin Meeting" and other fraud-related software that seems to be official but are actually copycats.
In addition, it is also a common trick of fraudsters to use express delivery to mail refund forms, scratch cards, and small gifts to attract victims to scan the QR code and add friends offline, and then impersonate customer service to commit fraud, so you need to be especially vigilant.
The transfer of funds is more diversified and hidden
In the early stage, fraudsters often tricked victims into transferring cash and purchased gold through offline mail or online car-hailing transportation, and under the severe crackdown and extensive publicity of the police, the incidence of such "online fraud + offline cash withdrawal" has been greatly reduced, and fraudsters have begun to trick victims into buying gold from online malls and mailing them directly to designated locations, so as to achieve the purpose of quickly transferring the defrauded money.
There are also fraudsters who use large supermarket stored-value cards, prepaid cards, and shopping cards to transfer fraudulent funds, and they trick victims into obtaining their card passwords after purchasing cards, or sending people to pick up cards or mail cards to designated places, etc., and then cash out and launder money through offline stores in other places or sell cards through online second-hand trading platforms.
近日,松江警方從轄區內一超市提供的異常購卡線索入手,快速回應、成功勸阻了一名準備購買超市購物卡進行充值刷單的受騙群眾,避免損失30余萬元。
In addition, the police also found that fraudsters tricked victims into adding their customer service friends on the grounds of fund verification security, mutual red envelope testing, etc., and then induced them to authorize "relatives cards" and "family cards", and quickly paid and transferred after binding. There are also fraudsters who induce victims to send passwords and red envelopes and distribute the passwords to "running points" to transfer fraudulent funds in the form of "grabbing red envelopes".
According to statistics, since the beginning of this year, the top five types of non-contact fraud cases represented by telecommunications network fraud are false investment and financial management, fake online shopping, impersonating platform customer service, swiping rebates and false online prostitution, among them, false investment and financial management accounted for more than 40%, the main method is to induce the installation of fake investment APP and then defraud money under the guise of investment profits from stocks, futures, virtual currencies and other investments.
