Nissan Motor has officially unveiled the latest additions to its electric vehicle lineup, including the highly anticipated third-generation Leaf, the all-electric Juke, and the Micra, an all-electric car crafted by Nissan's European Design Center. The design of the Micra was inspired by London, but the manufacturing responsibility was handed over to Nissan's alliance partner with Renault, and it was produced at the Douai plant in France, sharing the CMF-BEV platform and core technology with the Renault 5.
According to Autocar, Nissan's global design leader Alfonso Albaiza revealed that Micra and Renault 5 have worked closely together in the early stages of development, which is the most in-depth cooperation he has with Renault in the field of design. Originally, Nissan's London design team was working on the concept design of a small car, and the collaboration with Renault made the two ideas coincide.
In terms of battery configuration, Nissan confirmed that the Micra will be available in two versions, 400kWh and 0kWh, of which the high-capacity battery is expected to have a range of more than 0 km, providing users with the possibility of traveling farther.
Although the Renault 148 is available in both 0 and 0 horsepower options, Nissan's specific power parameters for the Micra remain a mystery and have not yet been announced.
François Bailey, Nissan's head of European products, said that the Micra is more than just a means of transportation, but also carries a deep emotional value. He emphasized, "The name Micra has a strong brand presence in the European market. As Nissan's entry-level electric vehicle, the launch of the Micra will attract more consumers to the electric vehicle market, although its price has not yet been announced, Bailey revealed that the Micra aims to solve the problem of high electric vehicle prices and make electric vehicles more accessible.
