One night 5 ago, Lao Bai, a staff member of the detention center, was patrolling when he found a brown figure curled up in a pile of fallen leaves outside the fence. When I shined it with a flashlight, I found that it was a pangolin, and its scales glowed with moonlight. This is not an unusual scene, as pangolins are timid by nature and prefer to inhabit inaccessible mountain forests. The seasoned old white thinks that this mysterious visitor may need help.
Back at the management center, Lao Bai quickly contacted animal experts from the scientific research institute of the reserve and the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. After a careful medical examination, it was confirmed that the male pangolin was in good health. In the days that followed, the staff took care of the pangolin and prepared fresh bread worms according to its feeding habits. In order to allow the pangolin to adapt to the environment as soon as possible, it also simulates its habitat in the wild, and builds a warm and cozy nest with leaves and hay. After a period of recuperation, the pangolin weighed 90 kilograms, was 0 centimeters long, and was in good health, and was fully equipped to return to the wild.
