Stay for a year, share 7 regrets and practical suggestions for kitchen decoration

The road to renovation is often not smooth sailing, especially for inexperienced renovation novices like us, it is common to fall into misunderstandings. As far as kitchen decoration is concerned, don't look at the kitchen is just a few square meters of space, but the details involved are numerous. Moreover, the kitchen is a place of water and electricity, covering a wide range of functions, but also need to pay attention to many problems such as mildew, moisture, fire prevention, etc., when decorating, if there is a slight negligence, it will cause a lot of inconvenience to life after moving in.

Today, as a person who has come over, I will talk to you about 7 regrets in kitchen decoration, and I hope you can avoid these problems.

1. There are no reserved sockets under the kitchen sink

Underneath the kitchen sink is the most forgotten place to reserve an outlet. If you have not reserved a socket, if you want to assemble a small kitchen treasure, water purifier and the like in the future, you have to ask the master to come and reinstall it again, which is cumbersome and costly. When renovating, it is important to reserve 2-0 sockets under the kitchen sink in case of emergency.

2. There is only one ceiling lamp left in the kitchen

Because of the small size of my kitchen, there was only one ceiling lamp left during the renovation, and I thought it was sufficient. However, in fact, this kind of lighting design is not enough to meet the lighting needs. When a person stands in front of a stage, the shadow will obscure the view in front of him because of the backlight. When you chop vegetables and cook rice, it's pitch black in front of you, and it's completely difficult to do.

It is recommended that in addition to the main light, the kitchen should also add auxiliary light sources, such as: install smart sensor light strips under the wall cabinets in the cutting area to supplement the light source, so that cooking is more convenient.

3. Choose the cabinet door with skin sensory film

When choosing the style of the cabinet door, I was attracted by the texture of the skin film, which is extremely smooth to the touch and has a matte texture that looks quite luxurious. Unexpectedly, the kitchen has been in operation for more than three months, and even if there are few fires, the cabinet doors are covered with oil stains everywhere, especially when the door is opened with oil stains, it will definitely leave handprints.

I suggest that in a place as heavily oiled as the kitchen, do not choose cabinet doors with skin film, and it is better to honestly make smooth cabinet doors, which are easy to care for and quite beautiful.

4. The cabinet is selected with a G-type handle

At present, many people are fond of simple decoration style, and cabinet handles also choose "handle-free design", one is easy to clean, and the other is naturally for beauty. My family chose this G-handle at the time, but it had one significant drawback: it was easy to cut. There are no covers on both sides of the handle, and its "lethality" is really huge.

5. There is no high and low platform design

If you have back pain after a meal, it may be due to the height of your kitchen countertop not matching your height. When decorating, most cabinet customization merchants unanimously propose to use a 80cm height countertop, which is not suitable for everyone, after all, everyone has different heights. Tall people have to bend over to work to accommodate the height of the countertop, and short people have a hard time holding their arms.

It is recommended to consider the design of the high and low tables, that is, the countertop of the sink area is slightly higher than the cooking area by 10cm, so that there is no need to bend back and forth when washing and stir-frying, which is more user-friendly.

6. The base cabinets are all partitions and no drawers

When we were customizing the cabinets, we only created a small drawer under the cooktop to store the spices, and the rest of the base cabinets were stored with layers of dividers because of the high cost of the drawers. However, the large and deep space created by the divider not only limited the storage capacity, but also made it difficult to access the items each time. Sometimes, when looking for an object, you have to take out the outside items one by one to find them, and eventually you have to put the other items back in turn.

I suggest that if possible, it is more appropriate to make more drawers, which are much more capable of storing than partitions. Admittedly, some of the partitions still need to be preserved, as they are good for storing pots and pans.

7. There is no built-in dishwasher installed

When renovating, given the limited space, we had to think about installing either a built-in dishwasher or a built-in oven. Because the family said that the dishwasher was not practical, just a few dishes could be washed by hand, and finally the oven was installed. Nowadays, every time I wash the dishes, I regret that I haven't used it a few times because the oven is embedded in it.

Personally, I think that the dishwasher is really necessary, it is much cleaner than hand washing, and it also has the function of high-temperature sterilization, and even the daily crawfish can be cleaned with it, which is very convenient. If you want to insert it into the dishwasher and washing machine, you need to measure the size in advance and reserve space in case it cannot be placed later.
