Breaking through the "last mile" of AI education

The "Five Actions" help teachers empower the classroom

Lu Yuexin, President of Jiangsu Academy of Educational Sciences, announced that Jiangsu will implement the "Five Actions" plan to comprehensively promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence and education and teaching, and help the digital transformation of education. Specifically, it includes: popularizing AI education, improving teachers' digital literacy, promoting AI teaching products, soliciting innovative topics, and building an intelligent teaching and research knowledge system. Through these actions, a three-dimensional textbook system will be built, teachers' digital professional growth will be promoted, and the deep integration of artificial intelligence and education and teaching will be realized. Lu Yuexin said that the integration of artificial intelligence and education is the trend of the times, and Jiangsu will promote the deep empowerment of AI technology in teaching with innovative practices, and help Jiangsu artificial intelligence education to "take the lead, strive to be the first, walk in the front, and demonstrate" in the country.

Be wary of AI ghostwriting

In the era of artificial intelligence, it is necessary to maintain the original intention of educating people

Zhao Hua, director of the Institute of Digital Education of Jiangsu Academy of Education Sciences, shared his insights on "artificial intelligence-enabled teaching" from three aspects: the connotation and logic of AI, the integration path of AI and teaching, and the rationality of education in the intelligent era, providing reference for digital teaching practice.

In terms of teaching application, Zhao Hua suggested that teachers should combine AI tools to optimize teaching design, learning support, proposition evaluation and other links, and at the same time be vigilant against problems such as AI ghostwriting homework, and advocate the establishment of checklists to ensure the authenticity of learning. He emphasized that teachers need to pay attention to the three principles of "creative structure, art of keywords and integration of pictures and texts" in the production of courseware. Zhao Hua believes that education should return to the essence of humanity, cultivate cooperation ability and collective memory, avoid thinking degradation caused by technology dependence, and call on educators to stick to the original intention of educating people and maintain critical thinking in the AI era.

"Digital human" records micro-lesson videos

Wisdom promotes the "intellectual" change of education

Shan Daohua, a teacher from the Institute of Digital Education of Jiangsu Academy of Education Sciences, shared an innovative case of AI technology empowering teachers' growth and students' learning with the theme of "Scenario Practice of Artificial Intelligence Empowering Teaching". She demonstrated the application of intelligent tools in audio-video to text, micro-course production, interactive resource development and academic research, such as quickly converting classroom transcripts through the platform and using Tencent digital humans to generate micro-lesson videos. In addition, AI can help teachers analyze learning conditions, optimize instructional design, and even generate classroom observation reports, significantly reducing duplication of effort. At the practical level, Shan Daohua introduced the supporting role of AI tools in personalized learning, creative expression and self-management, such as the guidance of problem-solving ideas and the application of 3D modeling tools. She emphasized that the essence of education still needs to adhere to the principle of "student-centered", avoid the abuse of technology to replace students' thinking and practice, and called on educators to rationally use AI tools to explore the path of smart education that can be promoted.

Zhao Yadong, a teacher from the Teacher Development Center of Yunlong District, Xuzhou City, shared the innovative application of "generative" artificial intelligence in the field of education with the theme of "Intelligent Agents: Promoting "Intelligent" Change in Education. He started from the four dimensions of the definition, advantages, practical cases and development methods of agents, and pointed out that agents can complete teaching tasks through human-machine collaboration, and their core advantages are accuracy, constraints and shareability. For example, the "Essay Correction Agent" can customize the evaluation criteria for different grades, and the "Speaking Training Agent" can correct pronunciation in real time. Zhao Yadong also demonstrated the development process of the agent platform, emphasizing that prompt word design is the key, and called on teachers to explore agent development based on needs to promote the personalized and intelligent transformation of education.

Teacher Gao Hong from Xinghai Experimental Senior High School in Suzhou Industrial Park, Teacher Shi Jingwen from Tianfeigong Primary School in Nanjing, Teacher Zhang Jin from Changzhou Juqian Street Primary School, and Teacher Sun Lu from Xiaoxiang Road School in Xuzhou City respectively gave lectures on "inquiry-based teaching", "personalized learning", "smart teaching evaluation" and "project-based teaching" empowered by AI.

Three breakthroughs and three directions

以技術之“智”賦能教育之“質”

"The wave of artificial intelligence is surging, and the digital transformation of education is unstoppable." Gu Yuehua, deputy director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and first-level inspector, pointed out that the results of this activity were fruitful, mainly reflected in the "three breakthroughs": first, the breakthrough in theoretical cognition. Through expert reports, the underlying logic of AI technology is clarified, and teachers are guided to shift from "tool use" to "logical thinking". Second, a breakthrough in the path of practice has been achieved. The 13 AI integration lessons displayed on site vividly demonstrated the supporting role of artificial intelligence technology in teaching difficulties and personalized learning. The third is the breakthrough of collaborative ecology, and teachers in 0 districts and cities in the province study and learn together, forming a cross-regional and cross-section smart education synergy.

Facing the future, Gu Yuehua put forward three directions: teachers need to become pioneers in AI applications, and let technology become a think tank for lesson preparation and classroom navigation; The teaching and research department needs to strengthen guidance, build a case database and a training chain, and transform the front-line experience into a replicable "Jiangsu paradigm"; Administrative departments work together to increase investment, improve digital infrastructure, optimize platform functions, and strictly abide by the bottom line of ethics, so as to build a safe, credible, and inclusive AI education ecosystem. The more advanced the technology, the more necessary it is to calibrate the direction with the original intention of educating people.

Gu Yuehua said that education is a future-oriented career, and artificial intelligence cannot become a rival to replace teachers, but a helper to reshape education. I hope that everyone will take today as a starting point to empower the "quality" of education with the "wisdom" of technology, so that Jiangsu students can grow into new talents with creativity and critical thinking in the wave of AI.
