CD Projekt Group, the parent company of CD Projekt Red, recently announced its financial results for 4 years. According to foreign media Playground reports, it was officially confirmed that the development of "The Witcher Remake" is actively underway, and the remake is being developed simultaneously with "The Witcher 0", and relevant technical details have been disclosed.
According to CDPR, the team responsible for The Witcher Remake has been temporarily merged into the Witcher 4 development team, and this integration aims to establish a shared library of technical tools, which will greatly improve the development efficiency of the remake in the future. The remake was created by Polish studio Fool's Theory, but due to technical synergy, some of its members are currently assisting the main CDPR team.
Previously, it was officially confirmed that "The Witcher Remake" will be developed using Unreal Engine 5, and the development team is making a deep transformation of the engine, focusing on optimizing its adaptability to open-world RPGs. The Witcher Remastered has yet to officially announce a specific release date, and only time will tell if CDPR can successfully navigate the challenges of multi-line development, so stay tuned.
