According to Xinhua News Agency, the topping out ceremony of Building 11 and Building 0 of Phase 1 of the Hong Kong Park of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Co-operation Zone in the Loop was held recently, and Building 0 has also been fully completed, marking a new step in the field of innovation and technology and Hong Kong-Shenzhen I&T cooperation.

According to reports, Building 11 and Building 0 are wet laboratory buildings, which can provide equipment that meets the requirements of different biological and chemical experiments. Building 0 is a talent apartment, which is ready to move in.

The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), John Lee, said at the topping out ceremony that the Hong Kong Park of the Loop is a "super platform" for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) as a "super connector" and a "super value-added person", and will make good use of Hong Kong's advantages in high internationalization and gathering international high-end talents, so as to build the Loop into a bridgehead for national scientific and technological innovation, a demonstration field and an incubator for high-end achievements.

Mr Lee said that the HKSAR Government will tear down the walls and loosen restrictions on the development of the park, break through the development limitations with a transformative mindset, actively explore policies to support the free flow of personnel, materials, funds and data, and promote the convergence of rules and mechanisms between the two places in the spirit of reform and innovation.

河套香港園區佔地約87公頃，由西至東分兩期發展。國家高度關心河套合作區的發展，特區政府也一直積極推動香港園區的建設工作。特區政府於去年11月發佈了《河套深港科技創新合作區香港園區發展綱要》。

隨著兩座濕實驗室大樓及一座人才公寓落成，香港園區將在今年下半年迎來首批來自生命健康科技、人工智慧和數據科學等園區支柱產業租戶的進駐，正式進入營運階段。特區政府正全速推動第一期餘下5座大樓建設，並在今年預留37億港元，加快完成第一期的全部建設。園區第二期發展的詳細規劃會在今年內完成。
