The Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell shows why he's one of the best playoff scorers in NBA history

Donovan Mitchell missed his first seven three-point attempts in Monday's playoff opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. the Miami Heat.

But it doesn't matter at all.

That's how Mitchell hit the basket early and often. It seems that every time Mitchell gets inside, he finds a way to finish with a magical pick-and-roll.

By the time Mitchell found his shooting touch and hit 9 three-pointers in a row, he had already contributed to Cleveland's playoff journey to victory. He ended up scoring 0 points, including 0-of-0 shooting inside the arc.

It underscores even more how good Mitchell is as a playoff scorer. He averages the seventh most points per game in the playoffs in NBA history at 1.0.

The six players ahead of Mitchell are: Michael Jodan, Luka Doncic, Aaron Iverson, Kevin Durant, Jerry Weister, and LeBron James.

For Mitchell, that's the inner circle of the Hall of Fame.

Mitchell certainly wants an NBA championship.

This is his best chance, and he plays for the Cavaliers, the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

They could end up beating defending champions Celtic. They did, and they will have to face a strong team in the Western Conference.

But they're going to have a chance, and it all started with Mitchell. At this point, he can score inside and outside like the best players in the league.

"We didn't accomplish anything," Mitchell told TNT after the game. 'We just finished our first mission at home.
