長沙市氣象台4月20日發佈氣象資訊專報，預計4月21日全市有一次暴雨、局地大暴雨並伴有強對流天氣過程，主要降雨時段為21日傍晚到夜間，大部分地區累計雨量50毫米到70毫米，長沙縣北部、瀏陽北部局地110毫米，最大雨強40毫米到60毫米/小時，部分地區有8到10級雷雨大風和小冰雹。

具體來看，20日，長沙陰天有分散陣雨，南風3級，21℃至27℃；21日，長沙大部分地區有暴雨，其中長沙縣北部、瀏陽北部局地大暴雨，南風轉北風4級、雷雨時陣風8到10級，18℃至32℃；22日，長沙陣雨轉多雲，北風4到5級，18℃至24℃。
