Normally, the Polar Smash Bros. mode relies on the way of remote heroes to play output and clear lanes, which may not work in this mode. Imagine that after pulling out all the opponent's towers, if Lux and Giggs defend in the middle, the opponent will definitely press directly and send the lane into the portal. The towers that the creeps were supposed to attack have become targets to be escorted instead of attacking towers, so the player can go as deep into the enemy area as possible so that the opponent can't clear the lane. In Smash Bros. mode, the underdog can rely on towers to survive, which doesn't work in this mode.

If you can't block the lane, you can only watch as the opponent keeps sending the lane into the portal. This mode is also not like the previous Hub Attack and Defense mode, which can rely on minions to kill the enemy area. In this mode, creeps are just scoring tools when suppressing the opponent, and may instead be more akin to Team Deathmatch. Riot's previous Pivot mode allows minions to gain a dragon-like buff by strengthening the flag, making it difficult for the opponent to clear the minions, and demolishing the tower with a long-range turret that automatically attacks the tower.

For a long time, many of League of Legends' entertainment modes were revamped based on the Summoner's Rift mode. Although the previous Arena mode brought a fresh experience to players by moving the game to a smaller map, the battle duration was usually still around 20 minutes. As a result, the community is curious and questionable about the new mode of Super Smash Bros. Ahead of the mode's official launch, Riot Games responded to these questions. The devs were asked why they chose Bandel City as the backdrop, as the new season has a Frencher theme, so why not keep it in the same style as Summoner's Rift?

Riot Cadmus, the mode team lead, gave two explanations: first, the team wanted to take the opportunity to show more Bandle City content; The second, and more crucial, reason is to avoid aesthetic fatigue among players through the diversification of themes and continue to maintain freshness. After all, in the Season of the Soul Lotus, the Summoner's Canyon map has adopted the Blooming Spirit style, and if the entertainment mode is also the same theme, players can easily get bored. Bandle City is one of the lesser-explored areas in League of Legends, and its unique art theme is fun enough to be drawn to by the team that developed the mode.

He also added that Smash Bros. was born out of an in-house hackathon. This is an internal competition that encourages Rioters to unleash their imagination and be bold and creative, and requires participants to design a small game within 48 hours. Since the original design of the model was modeled after Bandel City, the team ultimately decided to respect the original designer's philosophy. As for whether "Smash Bros. Bros." will become a permanent mode, Cadmus did not give a clear answer, saying only that it will focus on the correlation between the number of players and the fun of the game. After all, for many years, the only entertainment modes that League of Legends could retain for a long time were Genting Game and Polar Smash Bros.

It is worth noting that in recent years, Riot Games has launched modes such as Fighting Soul Arena and Endless Frenzy, which have been successful, especially Fighting Soul Arena, which has been loved by players through continuous updates and iterations. As a result, the community is eagerly awaiting the addition of Super Smash Bros. to the permanent mode, with many eager for a faster-paced game mode than Smash Bros. While Riot Games has tried to make the Arena a permanent one, the data shows that a few months after the mode's launch, player enthusiasm faded. Because of this, Arena of Fighting Spirits did not become a permanent mode, but instead came to players in a rotation mode that returns once or twice a year.
