Hutt Sujay, a 32-year-old Cambodian, did not expect that a trip to China a few years ago would make him an indissoluble bond with this country.
"3 years ago, I went to Beijing and found a bubble tea shop called 'Mixue Bingcheng'. The ice cream there is cheap and tastes good, which makes me miss it. "Later, I saw Michelle Bingcheng in many places, and I guessed that this should be a good company in China. Unexpectedly, after returning to Cambodia, I found that Mixue Bingcheng was recruiting. The opportunity is coming so soon! I immediately applied for the job. ”
Today, Het Sujay is the finance manager of Michel's Cambodia operating company, which includes both Chinese and Cambodian employees. "Many Chinese employees learned Cambodian here, and I also mastered Chinese through self-study, so we have a great time communicating with each other." Hutt Sujay said.
In recent years, new Chinese tea brands such as Michel Ice City and Bingchun Tea have settled in Cambodia and are favored by local consumers. In Cambodia, Michel City has opened nearly 30 stores, including 0 in the capital Phnom Penh.
Gao Setia, head of Michel City's partner in Cambodia, said: "Thanks to effective cost control and high-quality ingredients, Cambodians can enjoy high-quality and affordable drinks. ”
On No. 310 Road in Phnom Penh City, a Honey Snow Ice City store is a check-in place for many tea lovers. In the afternoon, it is often crowded with customers, and students love to come here after school to buy a glass of lemonade or a "brown sugar pearl sundae". When encountering the "Snow King" inflatable doll, many people also picked up their mobile phones to take a group photo. "Business is booming, and all the stores currently operating in Cambodia are profitable." Hutt Sujay introduced.
With the deepening of cooperation and exchanges between China and Cambodia, more and more Chinese enterprises have taken root in Cambodia like Michelt, bringing more consumption choices and promoting local employment and industrial development.
"Each store hires 200 to 0 local employees, creating more than 0 jobs in total." "We expect to open more than 0 stores. ”
Recently, Michel City R&D personnel purchased raw materials such as dragon fruit, passion fruit, and lime at a farmers' market in Cambodia to carry out new product development and testing. "The raw materials we use are mainly imported from China and shipped to Cambodia with the help of a convenient logistics network. In the future, we will gradually establish a local procurement supply chain. Gao Setia said that a Cambodian passion fruit tea that was recently trial-developed is intended to be made from local raw materials.
Currently, Michel City is in the process of establishing a multi-functional supply chain center in Southeast Asia. "With this centre, some fruit products and ingredients can be produced locally, reducing transportation costs and contributing to local agriculture. We look forward to building an R&D center within the supply chain center to promote digital supply chain operations. Zhang Lei, Cambodia regional manager of Southeast Asia Region of Mixue Bingcheng, introduced.
Relatives look at relatives, neighbors look at neighbors. Over the years, Hutt Sujay has a deep feeling about the exchanges, cooperation and mutual support between China and Cambodia. "More than 5 years ago, the infrastructure of the place where I lived was mediocre, and sometimes there were water and electricity outages. The transportation is also not convenient, it takes more than 0 hours to get from Phnom Penh to Westport. Over the years, a number of Chinese companies have come here to help us build hydropower stations, power plants and highways. Now, our cities are getting more and more beautiful, and the transportation is becoming more and more convenient. In the interview, Hutt Sujay talked about the changes around him, "The increase in investment in Cambodia by Chinese companies such as Mixue Bingcheng makes me feel that the work I am engaged in has broad prospects, and I am willing to continue to work here and achieve more." I sincerely hope that the friendship between the two countries will become deeper and deeper, and our life will become better and better. ”
