Recently, the world's first "Linglong-1" small modular reactor project ushered in an important milestone - the main pump was successfully hoisted in place, marking the project officially entered the critical stage of system installation.

As the core component of the reactor, the main pump is known as the "heart" of the nuclear power plant. The successful installation has undoubtedly laid a solid foundation for the commissioning of the follow-up unit. The performance and stability of the main pump will directly affect the operational efficiency and safety of the entire nuclear power plant.

The main pump of "Linglong No. 1" adopts a cutting-edge design concept, which can maintain long-term stable operation in the extreme environment of high temperature and high pressure. It will take on the heavy lifting of the coolant cycle, which will efficiently transfer the thermal energy generated by the core to the steam generator through continuous circulation, which will then be converted into electricity. As the world's first onshore commercial small reactor to pass the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) general safety review, Linglong-1 has won wide recognition from the international community. IAEA Director-General Grossi praised it as a model for the development of small reactor technology around the world. This honor not only highlights China's outstanding achievements in the field of small modular reactors, but also further enhances the influence of China's nuclear power technology on the international stage.
