4月12日傍晚，一位市民在南京燕子磯濱江公園發現一頭擱淺在江邊已死亡的長江江豚，其頭部有一個非常大的創傷，猜測可能是被過往船隻的螺旋槳打傷后死亡，根據體型判斷其可能還未成年。他把這個消息報告給了江豚保護機構，相關工作人員迅速趕到現場做了調查。

　　發現這頭死亡江豚的是南京雨花臺區一所中學高二年級的小韓同學，他是一位博物愛好者，喜歡淡水貝、陸貝、節肢動物等生物，閑暇時經常到長江邊考察。4月12日是週六，他來到燕子磯濱江公園，沿著江邊閒逛，下午4點鐘左右在一個很淺的河流與長江交匯處，他意外發現一頭江豚擱淺在岸邊的河灘上，已經死亡。

Xiao Han took a closer look and found that the finless porpoise was not large in size and had no obvious smell, but there was an obvious wound on the head, the muscle tissue inside was exposed, and there were white marks on the body.

Xiao Han contacted the Nanjing Finless Porpoise Aquatic Life Conservation Association through a friend, and their staff quickly arrived at the scene in less than 9 hours to examine the dead finless porpoise. According to measurements, the finless porpoise is about 0 centimeters long. The adult finless porpoise is generally about 0.0 meters long, and the longest can reach 0.0 meters, and this finless porpoise is estimated to be still underage.

　　長江江豚屬於國家一級重點保護野生動物，農業農村部2023年曾公佈2022年長江江豚科學考察結果，長江江豚種群數量為1249頭。江豚也是南京的明星物種，在南京的一些長江江段，經常能夠看到江豚。
