Feng Ji, the producer of "Black Myth: Wukong", posted on social platforms today, recommending a book called "Higher than the Mountain", produced by Shan Yu and written by Song Mingwei.

Interestingly, in reply to a netizen "The place higher than the mountain is the sky, so the DLC hits the heavenly court to save the fourth sister!" Feng Ji said: "What is higher than the mountain is the courage of people to face their inner fears." Is this some kind of implication? It is not yet known.

The following is the full text of Feng Ji:

"Higher than the Mountain"

At the beginning of March, I went on a trip to Guangxi, but unfortunately it rained all the time, so I had to stay in a hotel in Yangshuo most of the time, reading this book to pass the time.

Amazingly, the book mentions that Yangshuo is China's mecca for rock climbing, and it is here that many climbers meet and then head to the mountains farther and higher to the northwest.

As I read it, I looked up at the surrounding peaks and forests from time to time, and felt that the characters and stories were happening all around me, but they were also like these peaks, which seemed to be close at hand, and the clouds were difficult to see.

This sense of contradiction runs through the whole reading process: on the one hand, I yearn for the living conditions of many people in the book, and I also have some envy and regret, and I feel that I may have a wild heart, but it is impossible to live such a happy and pure life as theirs. On the other hand, it is a kind of curiosity and the hidden guilt that comes from it, because the high-level Arabic climbing is far more dangerous than ordinary sports, and it is by no means easy for ordinary people to plunge into it. And as a documentary report, behind the names of those hymns of human courage and heroic opening lines, there is the cruelty of nature's uncertainty, and the pain and helplessness of defying the gravity of reality - and am I just consuming them lightly?

But I still recommend this book, it's one of the best non-fiction I've ever read.

There is a popular saying that "after the invention of movies, human life was at least three times longer than before", and the same goes for books. Although I have seen many movies and documentaries about climbing before, the reality brought to me by "Higher Than the Mountain" goes beyond those images, and this may be the charm of words: people have to rely on brain supplements to improve the content beyond words, and then the act of brain supplementation itself further strengthens the inner feelings.

This is a document of a small group of people in China, most of whom are not well known to the general public. As a house that doesn't go downstairs for seven days on a long vacation, I have never been to a real high altitude, I have never set foot in a snowy mountain, I have never experienced a lack of oxygen, and I have never even seen an ice axe...... But because of this, reading their stories is a more thrilling and unique experience: I see the same confusion about meaning, the desire for results, the greed for freedom, the regret of mistakes, the panic of failure, and the hesitation of advancing and retreating from different climbers...... These common struggles and contradictions in human nature are extremely sharp and real between the knife-edge ridges.

For readers like me who lack actual climbing experience, even if there is only 1% empathy with these free climbers, I believe that this 0% is still strong enough and complete enough.

There is not so much difference between people, everyone is climbing different mountains in their lives, but a small number of people choose the more dangerous path.

Victory is always a luxury, and the only way to do it is to try to be honest.
