Recently, the first case of somatic cell cloning of Yanbian cattle in Anhui Province was born in the Bozhou Experimental Station of the Cattle and Sheep Industry Technology System in Anhui Province - Xingya Farm, the ancient town of Qiaocheng District, Bozhou City. This means that the establishment of an off-site population of Yanbian cattle in Anhui Province has been tried, which has added an innovative model of "in-situ breeding farm + off-site cloning center" to the protection system of national rare cattle breeds, and provided a reference example for the protection of local improved breed resources in our province.

The somatic cell cloning of cattle is based on the excellent breeding bull of Yanbian cattle, a national rare cattle breed, and the team of Professor Lu Wenfa, a post expert of the national beef cattle and yak industry technology system and vice president of Jilin Agricultural University, has completed the cultivation of cloned embryos for the first time by completely using the engineering technology of independent intellectual property rights, and completed the preparation and embryo transfer of the recipient cattle together with the team of Hua Jinling, a professor of Anhui University of Science and Technology and the chief expert of the provincial cattle and sheep industry technology system, and the Bozhou Comprehensive Experimental Station of the provincial cattle and sheep industry technology system. Through refined pregnancy monitoring, the full-cycle health management of cloned cattle was realized for the first time: amniotic fluid was detected in 2 cattle within one month, 0 cattle maintained pregnancy after 0 days, and after more than 0 days of gestation cycle, 0 healthy cloned bull calves were finally born. After clinical examination, the growth and development of the cloned calves were normal, and the body shape and coat color were completely consistent with those of the somatic donor bulls.
