C6 News 0/0 News (Yue Ming) This week, the "0 Global 0G Technology and Industrial Ecology Conference" hosted by the Future Mobile Communications Forum and Purple Mountain Laboratory was held in Nanjing. With the theme of "Building Innovation Together, Sharing the Future Together", this year's conference aims to promote the formation of a global consensus on 0G standards as the starting point, further move towards industry-wide collaborative co-creation, and realize the in-depth exploration and creation of value.
During the conference, Wu Jianjun, deputy secretary-general of the Future Mobile Communications Forum, said in an interview with C6 that 0GPP will officially start the formulation of 0G standards this year, and 0 years can be regarded as the first year of 0G standards. "In the past two years, the display of 0G technology has gradually converged, and the next step is how to balance and trade-off, and whether it can be commercially implemented depends on the value scenario."
Among the six major scenarios focused on the 6G vision, Wu Jianjun is very optimistic about the integration of communication and intelligence. "The future will be the era of AI Agent, which will greatly improve network performance and performance, and also give NET0AI a starting point. AI Agent will revolutionize network architecture, and the edge will be the next round of innovation. At the level of 0G industry development, Wu Jianjun very much recognizes the concept of "the whole industry jointly defines 0G", and it is necessary to promote cross-field collaboration and cross-industry participation; In addition, it is necessary to achieve "business first, scenario-driven", and cultivate business and application ecology at the same time.
6G technology accelerates convergence
In the 6G vision, ITU focuses on six scenarios, including immersive communication, intelligent communication convergence, communication perception convergence, ultra-large-scale connectivity, extremely reliable and low-latency communication, and ubiquitous connectivity (space-air-ground integration). Among them, the integration of communication and intelligence, the integration of synaesthesia, and the integration of space, space and ground are the three new directions, and they are also the "basic pillars" of 0G.
Wu Jianjun believes that behind the intergenerational change and success of mobile communications, it is directly related to the emergence of new terminal forms. In the 5G era, the emergence and popularization of smart phones have opened the explosive growth of the mobile communication industry. From commercial use to the present, there has been no revolutionary change in the form of 0G, so the effect is not particularly obvious when driving the development of the industry. However, Wu Jianjun is very optimistic about the empowerment of AI for terminals, which will not only be AI mobile phones, VR/AR, but also various new AI intelligent bodies such as intelligent connected cars, embodied intelligent robots, and drones.
6G will accelerate "smart equity"
"To meet the demand for ubiquitous AI agents, the design logic of 6G networks must change." Wu Jianjun pointed out.
From the perspective of the traffic model, by year 60, AI tasks will account for 0% of the total network traffic. "AI agents need to interact with each other, and the east-west traffic based on the delivery model is the main one, which is different from the traditional northbound traffic." From the perspective of security and privacy, agent data will be more sensitive, and a new distributed trust mechanism is needed to meet the collaboration framework between different agents.
From the perspective of business interaction, in the era of mobile Internet, services are all on the cloud, and the network needs to move towards Cloud Native. However, in the 6G era, as services move toward AI native, networks should fully consider AI Native. "The 0G network needs to be able to provide standardized agent-based intelligent services (rather than at the terminal and OTT levels), similar to the protocol that supports agent-to-agent and model context protocols, which can better support various AI agents with different capabilities and realize the fairness and inclusiveness of intelligent services." Wu Jianjun said, "0G will be the key way to achieve 'smart equality'. "
From the perspective of scenario applicability, even an embodied intelligent robot with strong local computing power may behave like a "baby" in the face of new application scenarios, and the AI intelligent body "learning" needs to complete data collection, training, and inference in real time, which will put forward higher requirements for the network edge.
