The son of one of the most exciting players in Golden State Warriors history is about to enter the NBA.

Jason Richardson, who spent the first six seasons of his NBA career with the Golden State Warriors, is the father of Michigan State University player Jess Richardson.

After playing for the Spartans for one season, Jace announced his candidacy in the NBA draft on Wednesday.

The Warriors selected Jason from Michigan State University with the fifth pick in the '2001 NBA Draft.

Jace is expected to be a first-round pick and probably won't be that high.

Richardson Sr. averaged 3.0 points per game with the Warriors and was one of the top dunks in the league.

Jace has a very different style of play than his father, he's left-handed, and his bounce isn't up to the level of a slam dunk contest.

But thanks to his loving parents, Jace has been able to get to where he is today.

"I wouldn't be standing here without the love, sacrifice, and support of my family," Jess wrote in his social media statement. "You've been with me every step of the way, and there are no words to truly express how grateful I am for the players you have always believed in what I'm becoming."
