In the course of two home renovation trips, I deeply realized the importance of choosing the right household items to improve the quality of life.

Sometimes, for the sake of space or budget, we may choose a smaller product, but we often encounter various inconveniences in the future. On the other hand, in some cases, choosing a larger product will have a much greater convenience and comfort than a smaller one. Below, I would like to share some of my personal experiences.

The choice of refrigerator must be large capacity. Considering that we need to store all kinds of food – from fresh fruit and vegetables to meat and dairy to beverages and condiments – the fridge can quickly fill up if it has limited capacity. This not only affects access efficiency, but also makes it more difficult to meet the storage needs of the home. Imagine that after a weekend of shopping, you find that there is nowhere to put the newly purchased ingredients; Or in the hot summer, you want to save more cold drinks but have to give up due to lack of space. In addition, it is necessary to have sufficient food reserves during festivals or family gatherings, and if the refrigerator is not available at this time, it will greatly add to the problems of life.

When I renovated for the first time, I chose a smaller refrigerator to save space and budget. However, it soon became clear that its storage space was seriously insufficient, and it was difficult to arrange food every day. For the second renovation, I decisively chose a large-capacity side-by-side refrigerator, which not only has plenty of space, clear partitions, but also is extremely convenient to use. Nowadays, whether it is daily food storage or food preparation during the holiday season, it has become a breeze.

It is also recommended to choose a high-capacity model for washing machines. With the improvement of living standards, the variety and quantity of our clothing are constantly increasing. If the capacity of the washing machine is too small, the laundry needs to be carried out in batches, which is not only time-consuming and energy-intensive, but also accelerates the wear and tear of the machine. Especially for families with young children, frequent changes of clothes have become the norm, coupled with the need to wash large items such as bedding, curtains, etc., small capacity washing machines obviously cannot meet the demand. The high-capacity washing machine can stir and clean heavy clothes such as down jackets and blankets more fully to ensure that the clothes are as clean as new.

I used a small-capacity washing machine in my first home, and I always did the bedding in batches, and I didn't always feel clean enough when I washed the thick laundry. Therefore, for the second renovation, I opted for a high-capacity front-loading washing machine, which can not only wash a large amount of laundry at once, but also make it cleaner and fluffier. Today, laundry is no longer a tedious task, and the quality and efficiency of life have been significantly improved.

As for the sofa, it is advisable to choose a large size as much as possible. As the core furniture of the living room, the sofa is not only an important place for our daily rest and entertainment, but also the key to receiving visitors. If the sofa size is too small, it is not only uncomfortable to sit on, but also cannot meet the needs of multiple people at the same time. At family gatherings or when friends visit, the small sofa can be cramped and affect the enjoyment of the guests. A large sofa allows you to lie down comfortably after work and watch TV, effectively relieving the fatigue of the day.

The small sofa I chose for the first renovation was too stretched for each guest and felt not spacious enough for personal use. So for the second renovation, I bought a large fabric sofa, which is not only comfortable to sit on, but also can accommodate multiple people at the same time. Whether it's a family TV show or a gathering of friends, it's now easy to play, and the sofa has become the star piece of furniture in the living room.

Large dining tables are also recommended. The dining table is not only a place to eat, but also a platform for family members to communicate and interact. Small dining tables are often not enough for family dinners or holiday dinners, while large dining tables can be filled with more utensils and food, making the dining experience more enjoyable. In addition, the large dining table can be used for daily work, study or craft activities, and is extremely practical.

In my first home, the small dining table made every family gathering feel crowded and the dining experience was compromised. So for the second renovation, I opted for a large extendable dining table that can be resized as needed, saving space and providing great flexibility. Whether it's a daily meal or a family gathering, it's easy to cope with.

In short, when decorating and choosing furniture, we should fully consider the actual needs and future development of the family. When it comes to large furniture such as refrigerators, washing machines, sofas and dining tables, choosing a larger version often brings more convenience and comfort, which can greatly improve the quality of life.
