Motta: A lot of players have sent me messages to thank me privately, which is more important than posting on social media

虎撲04月06日訊 前尤文主教練蒂亞戈-莫塔今天接受了《晚郵報》的獨家專訪,並且談到了與球員們的關係。

Why is Koopmeiners the same as last season?

'I think the expectations of Koop were too high at the beginning, and the pressure of a big transfer fee on him was heavier than everyone thought. But I'm sure he's going to get better and better, he's a high-level player and he did really well last year in Atalanta and in the national team. ”

"I believe that as long as the environment is right and expectations are lowered, he will get back to where he should be. He'll need to adapt to his role in the team now, both on the pitch and in the dressing room, but he'll keep improving. Because he's a very good player and he's a really good lad and he's training very hard and I'm sure he'll contribute a lot to the team. ”

You've always been protective of Koop, but you weren't disappointed that he didn't thank you on social media after class?

"No, whether you like it or not, I'm always the same about the way I do things: as long as I see a player working hard, dedicating and fighting for the team, I support him, not to get anything in return, and it's not necessary to post on social media or not."

"Today's social media can give people the misconception that if you don't say it, it doesn't exist, it's not true. But what really matters to me is the messages that are sent to me privately, which a lot of players have done, and that emotional expression is the recognition and gratitude that we have experienced together. Not only Koop, but a lot of other players, even the ones I might have been more strict with in training, have also messaged me privately, and there are a lot of people who have worked quietly at the club and are not known to the outside world, and they have expressed their support for me. ”

Was it the right decision to send Keane and Faggioli away?

'It wasn't a mistake for me, it was a combination of economics and tactics, and of course the club didn't know at the start of the season that Milik would be out of action for almost the entire season. Later, Kolo Muani joined the old and he also contributed a lot to the team. ”

'Faggioli did well with us at the beginning but then he had a low period, so we talked to the club and decided to let him work out with other teams. I hope both Faggioli and Keane continue to grow as they are now, and to say that one player we really missed is Nicolusi Kaviglia, who is showing very good qualities. ”

Rumor has it that you don't have a good relationship with Vlahovic?

'Toussaint played a lot of games and some people even said he played too much, which shows that he deserves to play and has been working hard. Sometimes he couldn't play because of injuries that gave him a few days off. He's a smart player who understands and accepts my decisions. ”

'We have a good relationship and of course whether or not we can play can have a big emotional impact on the players and it's really unhappy when he's not playing, but he's always respected my choice, kept training and did his best to help the team every time he came on the pitch.

What do you think of Douglas Lewis? He was a star in the Premier League, but spent most of his time recovering from injuries in Serie A.

"He's a player with a lot of potential, not only his skills, but also something I really admire: he has personality and courage. Of course, injuries have had a big impact on him. To maintain his form, you have to have continuity and he hasn't been able to establish that rhythm, but I believe he has what it takes to establish himself at a big club like Juventus. ”

Does the frequent change of captain give the team a sense of instability? Is this a mistake?

'As long as Danilo is there, he's our captain. But this Juventus team started building last summer, it is a completely new project, the squad has changed a lot, and a lot of new people have come. For me, choosing a captain is not a casual thing, and the responsibility of a captain is very important, not only on the field, but also in daily life. ”

'I was looking for the right guy and Bremer was, he had that requisite sense of prestige and in the end we went with Locatelli, he's been captain for a while and he's doing a great job, he's the kind of player who can convey Juve's values and is fit to captain at this stage.

You said it was a 'shame' after the Empoli game, how did the team respond?

'We don't have any excuses about that game. It wasn't like Juventus at all, I made mistakes myself, and I admitted it very frankly after the game. The players are smart people and they feel disappointed, they regret and they realise that we missed a chance and we really want to win that trophy. ”

Have you ever felt like you were being beaten by the team? "Betrayed"?

"No, never. I'm a candid, honest, direct person, and I've always been that with my players. I was very strict in the dressing room after that game, but I never felt betrayed. Since day one, these players have been training hard and eager to perform well. We've had a lot of difficult moments together, especially injuries, but they always try to go the extra mile and no one is lazy. We all want to be the best we can be, and unfortunately we didn't quite get there. ”

Is it a mistake to change the starting lineup too often?

'We do change a lot of times, partly because of the injuries, but also because we have to rotate some players every two or three days to be at our best. I can't say I'm doing everything right, but one thing is for sure, everything I do is to win, and so do my players. ”

Is it true that the outside world says you have a bad temper?

"No, not at all. I'm an honest and frank person, and I like to talk on the bright side, without conspiracy or gossip behind my back. If there is a problem, whether it is with the staff or the players at the club, I am willing to discuss it face-to-face. I'll talk to the players individually and in a group setting, as long as I feel like it's important to everybody. I also like to joke and talk to them, and I'm not the type of coach who yells or makes exaggerated gestures on the sidelines. ”

Is there a coach who has had a big impact on you?

"Now when you talk about football, everyone seems to be talking about ideology or philosophy. But I'm neither a thinker nor a philosopher, I'm a football coach and I like to win. I've changed a lot since I started at PSG and I've always adapted to my players because they're the ones who really play the role. ”

"I have my own beliefs, which come from my experience with many coaches and the experience I have gained in different countries and football cultures. If I had to name a few names, I would say: Van Gaal, he had a great influence on me; There is also Gasperini's way of training; Mourinho's charisma; And Carlo Ancelotti, the way he handles relationships, the way he deals with the players, I really admire it. Carlo Ancelotti said something very true: 'There are only two kinds of players, one who can change the game and the other who is in charge of running, and there is no grey area in between. ’”

How did you feel when you locked your locker and left the Continassa training base?

"I feel sad because when I accepted this job, I came with the vision of success. But this experience has been a very valuable growth, both professionally and personally. Now I'm enjoying my time with my family because whenever I teach, my family is still in Portugal and we don't want to change schools so often that the kids are growing. It is a rare happiness to be able to accompany them in such a negative phase. But I'm ready to start again, dive into the next project, continue my coaching work and do the best I can. ”
