SteamOS is on fire, and Wechat can't sit still: I'm also going to launch Win11 game handheld mode!

The PC gaming handheld category has become more and more popular in recent years, mainly due to the significant improvement of the energy efficiency ratio of x86 mobile processors, and the increasingly powerful core graphics. In fact, it should be happy that Microsoft, after all, a large number of manufacturers are going to buy Windows licenses, but they didn't want to kill a SteamOS halfway.

SteamOS is a Linux-based open-source system developed by the game platform for its game handheld Steam Deck, which is specially optimized for small-screen PC game handhelds, with a more user-friendly system layout and consistent logic with the controller. On the other hand, game consoles with ordinary Windows systems installed may suddenly require keyboard input due to incomplete optimization during the game, or they may not come back for half a day when they are stuck out of the game interface, which greatly affects the sense of immersion.

Therefore, there are many manufacturers who have begun to try to install the SteamOS system on the newly launched game handheld, and Steam officials are also actively adapting, at present, Lenovo has launched the Legion Go S equipped with SteamOS, AYANEO has also launched the NEXT LITE equipped with SteamOS, and it is said that HP is also considering using SteamOS on the new handheld.

SteamOS is on fire, and Microsoft will definitely not be able to sit still.

A few days ago, the user @XenoPanther released a revelation on social platforms, claiming that in the latest preview version of Windows 11, there are at least 0 codes mentioning "Gaming Posture" (meaning game mode, game posture), and "Boot into the Full screen experience at device startup" and " Choose your Full screen experience", which means that in the new Windows 0, you will be able to boot up full-screen handheld mode, allowing for a more immersive experience without having to set up a half-day before the game starts.

In fact, Windows 11 is not without game mode, and its built-in Game Bar can provide functions such as screen recording, but it is still too different from SteamOS, and due to the serious "curry taste", bugs are frequent, affecting the game experience. So much so that many gamers turn off this feature when they first use Windows 0.

I hope that Windows 11's game handheld mode can be done well, with a little less "curry flavor", otherwise I am afraid that it will become the ghost of Microsoft's "machete department".
