If there is no oxygen in space, how can the sun burn endlessly? Unravel the mystery of solar energy

First, we need to understand the nature of combustion. Combustion is a chemical reaction that produces heat and emits light, and its reaction process is extremely complex. Combustion requires the presence of three necessary conditions at the same time: combustibles, oxygen, and the minimum temperature required for combustion.

During combustion, momentum, heat and mass are transferred between fuel, oxygen and combustion products.

However, despite the fact that burning is common on Earth, there is no oxygen in space, so how does the sun "burn"?

Miraculously, this "burning" of the sun does not require the participation of oxygen in the whole process.

So, how does the sun's nuclear fusion continue? This is thanks to the tremendous mass of the sun. The mass of the Sun is so large that its gravitational pull is strong enough to compress the material in the core region to extremely high densities and temperatures, thus maintaining the nuclear fusion reaction.

Therefore, even in the absence of oxygen in space, the sun can still continue to "burn" steadily, illuminating our universe and providing a steady stream of light and heat for all living beings on earth.

Theoretically, the "combustion" of the sun is not part of what we usually define as a chemical combustion reaction, because it does not require the participation of oxygen.

Of course, we can also understand it from another angle, that is, the sun is not burning, it just looks a lot like a burning fireball, nothing more.

In fact, in the universe, with the exception of stars like the Sun, collisions between celestial bodies are also like combustion, but they are not actually combustion.

For example, the comet collision event in 1994 years looked very spectacular, and the moment Comet Smy Klevy 9 collided with Jupiter, a huge "flame" was produced. And this "flame" is not a burning flame, but a large amount of thermal radiation released by the impact.
