3月31日，中興通訊發佈公告，當日召開的第十屆董事會第一次會議審議通過《關於選舉第十屆董事會董事長的議案》，選舉方榕為公司董事長。日，中興通訊第十屆董事會聘任了公司新一任高級管理人員，徐子陽繼續擔任中興通訊總裁，王喜瑜、李瑩、謝峻石擔任公司執行副總裁，分別負責研發、財務、運營管理及行銷。
3月28日，中興通訊舉辦2024年度股東大會和業績說明會。會上宣佈，李自學因年齡原因卸任中興通訊董事長。
31日，方榕發表致中興通訊全體員工的一封信，她在信中表示，四十年前，在創始人侯為貴先生的帶領下，中興通訊從南海之濱啟航，四十年來，一路見證並參與了中國資訊通信產業從2G追趕、3G突破、4G並進到5G領跑的跨越式發展，從一家本土企業成長為全球領先的跨國公司。在這一成長過程中，公司歷經多次行業週期跌宕與外部環境風雲變幻的嚴峻考驗，但始終以堅韌不拔的意志在挑戰中淬鍊成長。她特別強調，這背後源自幾代中興人“中興通訊，中國興旺”的初心堅守和自主創新精神的薪火相傳。在信中，她同時致敬了前董事長李自學先生對公司的貢獻，提到李自學率領管理團隊在公司最艱難的時期臨危受命，帶領公司快速走出低谷，穩住了經營基本面，成功把握中國5G建設等關鍵機會，並明確了面向AI時代的戰略，為公司穩健發展奠定了堅實基礎。
