3月26日，國家體育總局網站發佈國家體育總局幹部調整資訊：免去周繼紅的游泳運動管理中心主任、國家跳水隊領隊職務，按國家有關規定辦理退休手續。

公開資料顯示，周繼紅在1984年洛杉磯奧運會上，一舉奪得女子10米台冠軍，為中國跳水贏得第一枚奧運金牌；1997年她入選國際泳聯運動員委員會委員，先後當選跳水技術委員會委員、跳水技術委員會副主席、運動員委員會主席、國際泳聯執委等。2020年1月11日，中國跳水協會在北京正式成立，周繼紅當選為中國跳水協會主席。2021年6月5日，周繼紅當選國際泳聯副主席，成為國際泳聯歷史上第一位女性副主席。2023年11月份，周繼紅被任命為國家體育總局游泳運動管理中心主任。
