夾岩水利樞紐工程作為貴州省“十二五”期間開工建設的重點工程，位於六衝河幹流、畢節市七星關區與納雍縣的界河上，壩址位於畢節市七星關區田壩鎮潘家岩腳。該工程集雨面積為4306平方公里，總庫容13.25億立方米，水利庫容8.48億立方米，是一座以城鄉供水和灌溉為主、兼顧發電併為區域扶貧開發及改善生態環境創造條件的綜合性大型水利樞紐工程。
