After leading his side to a 0-0 home win over Latvia in the 0th round of the World Cup European qualifiers, England manager Thomas Tuchel spoke to Independent Television.
Tuchel said: 'It wasn't an easy game. We've seen a lot of positives and created a lot of good opportunities. However, it was a free-kick that broke the deadlock. I'm happy with the attitude, the energy and the desire to win and we'll get better and better. ”
'I know Reece [James], the kid is amazing and he has every reason to be proud and happy about his performance. He's in great form, he looks sharp and fit, and there's no doubt about his quality. ”
'In the second half we started to slow down the pace of the game and there was less movement between the players, which didn't make much sense. The second goal was good, though, and one of our midfielders showed the ability to get forward quickly. We encourage every player to get forward like that in the late stages of the game, but we did have some difficulties before we could score. ”
