The biggest pain point of a small apartment is that the storage space is often insufficient, as long as there are a little more things at home, it will be disorganized, which greatly affects daily life.

But in fact, the more inconspicuous the location of the home, it is often a hidden "storage holy place", as long as you think about it, you can find a lot of usable space.

In this issue, I will take stock of the "thin cabinet storage" design scheme in some young people's homes, but I didn't expect that after a change of thinking, a small space can also be of great use.

First, the entrance cabinet is thin

It's all 2025, and there is still a house type with a "no entrance and no shoe cabinet" position, and I don't know how the developer considered it when designing.

Generally, in response to this situation, a set of thin cabinets + flip-down cabinet doors are customized to solve the storage needs of shoes, just like in the figure below. Of course, you can also install a perforated board on top of the shoe cabinet, which has some decoration and storage functions.

However, for most families, the storage power of this half-height shoe cabinet is obviously not enough.

Therefore, we might as well make the half-height cabinet into a tall cabinet with the help of a telescopic rod at the compartment to maximize the storage capacity of the expanded space. (As shown in the figure below, the net depth is only 18cm)

If you think that this kind of cabinet lacks functionality, you can also add the function of shoe changing stool + hook + storage table as in the figure below, so that the functionality of the entrance area is more perfect.

Although the 20cm deep stool is a bit embarrassing, the comfort of changing shoes is somewhat improved by using it temporarily.

Second, the aisle cabinet

Most units have an aisle, and this aisle can easily be wasted. In the case of the end-view wall, many people ignore it because the depth is only about 12cm.

But in fact, this can also design a set of 10cm deep thin cabinets, whether it is used to store paper towels, or some other daily consumables, it is very useful.

It should be noted that don't do the back panel of the cabinet, and save a little space if you can.

In addition, you can also design a set of floating figure display cabinets on this wall, which not only solves the needs of figure storage, but also has a good decoration.

If there is space available on the walls on both sides of the aisle, you can also use a thin cabinet + walk-in storage room as shown in the figure below, which is convenient for the storage of large sundries and makes full use of the space.

3. Balcony thin cabinet

Not all balconies can be made into a set of deep cabinets, for example, the balcony in the picture below is only 25cm deep, coupled with the existence of sewer pipes, the space is very chicken.

But even so, you can also use the air conditioner to design a set of 23cm deep thin cabinets, and then with a movable compartment, some fragmented storage at home has been solved.

It is worth mentioning that since the cabinet air conditioner is installed at home, the 90cm high air conditioning duct space is also reserved under the cabinet.

Not only that, but in the case that the balcony can be designed with a storage cabinet normally, a thin cabinet can also be designed separately for the plumbing part. It can be made open, or it can be installed with a cabinet door, depending on the depth, so as not to miss every inch of available space.

Fourth, the bedroom cabinet is thin

The core storage of the bedroom is the wardrobe, but there are also a lot of scattered items, and it is impossible to stuff them all into the wardrobe, so you may as well use a thin cabinet to store them.

1) Thin cabinet behind the door:Usually, there is a stacking space less than 8cm deep behind the bedroom door, which can be customized with a set of thin cabinets. Like the thin cabinet in the picture below, it is only 0cm deep, and there is no problem at all to put some maternal and infant consumables.

In addition, you can also make a thin cabinet and wardrobe into one, which not only improves the integrity of the space, but also facilitates the storage of silk scarves, sunglasses and other fragments.

2) Wardrobe side:The non-built-in wardrobe can be designed with a set of thin cabinets with a depth of about 20cm on the side, which is very convenient for storing cosmetics and hats, and after installing a mirror on the cabinet door, it also has the function of makeup.

You can also refer to this design idea, like the picture below to design the thin cabinet opposite the door, even if the net depth is only 7cm, you can also store a lot of small things.

3) Thin cabinet with slots:If your bedroom is so small that there is only 20cm of space left after putting down a bed, you can also use a set of thin cabinets to plug this gap to make it have a certain storage and storage function.

Fourth, the kitchen cabinet

The chicken rib space in the kitchen is mainly concentrated in the flue, so when we customize the cabinets, we can make a group of thin cabinets at the flue according to the size difference between the flue and the cabinet.

On the one hand, it improves the integrity of the kitchen, and on the other hand, it also facilitates the storage of some bottles and cans, thereby relieving the storage pressure of countertops and cabinets.

Some people may ask, what should I do if my kitchen flue can't be made into a thin cabinet at the corner of the cabinet? In fact, as long as you change your thinking, design an alcove in this position to store bottles and cans, which is also convenient for cooking.

In addition, in the case of an awkward kitchen size, you can also use thin cabinets to make the kitchen that can only be made L-shaped to achieve a U-shaped cabinet structure.

5. Bathroom cabinet

The bathroom doesn't seem to have much, but in fact there are a lot of small things. If you don't have a reasonable storage area, it will look very messy when you put it away.

Therefore, we should take this problem into account when decorating.

If the bathroom cabinet is independent, a set of 25cm wide pull-out cabinets can be designed by partition, and a piece of ultra-white art glass can be installed on it, which is both beautiful and practical.

If the bathroom cabinet is inside the bathroom, the mirror cabinet can be extended to the toilet, which can also expand the storage capacity, and the mirror also indirectly improves the sense of space and lighting.

In addition, the side of the bathroom cabinet is made into a 10cm deep open compartment, which is specially used to store paper towels, which is also very useful.

In fact, storage does not have to be "hard plugged", but learn to reduce hoarding while planning reasonably. Otherwise, no matter how many cabinets there are at home, there will eventually be a day when they "burst".
